The definition of spray shape is the shape generated by the liquid sprayed from the nozzle to the target object which is the significant feature for the nozzle. Most of the time, the spray shape remains the same, even the spray shape may vary based on the current pressure in the size of the spray shape in proportion. In below images, you can find the side view of nozzle spray and the shape of spray distribution for reference.

For fulfilling various industry needs, LORRIC provides several kinds of nozzle options introduced as below by each spray shape.
● Fan shape
The side view of the spray is fan shape. Spray distribution.
● Cone shape
Also known as umbrella shape and full cone shape.
● Hollow cone shape
Also known as ring shape and donut shape.
● Spiral spray shape
Also known as mosquito coils shape, concentric circles shape, semisolid shape and usually classified to cone shape or hollow cone shape according to its number of layers.
● Mixing nozzles
The spray of mixing nozzles is unshaped which have to be independent as a unique style of nozzle.
The shape and density in each area of the spray distribution for each spray shape are all different and which is affected by spray angle and pressure. Below images are for better understanding about the shape and density of spray distribution for each spray shape.
● Fan spray
There are three kinds of spray distribution for this category.
- Mountain shape: As shown below, in the left image, both ends of the spray distribution are with lower density than the center. Compared with the right image, both ends of the flow rate are lower than the center as well.
- Stage shape, plateau shape: As cone spray shape nozzles.
- Valley shape, donuts shape: It is close to the distribution of hollow cone spray shape, but with a little higher flow rate.

◉ Hollow cone spray:There are three kinds of spray distribution for this category.
- Mountain shape: Also known as fan shape.
- Stage shape, plateau shape: As shown below, in the left image both ends of the spray distribution are with higher density than the center. Compared with the right image, both ends of the flow rate are higher than the center as well.
- Valley shape, donut shape: It is close to the hollow spray but with a little more flow at the center part.

● Hollow cone spray
As shown below, there is no flow at the center part of the spray.
● Spiral spray
In the left image, the spray is distributed at the concentric circles which covers more area than the hollow cone spray. Also, you can see the right image for showing its more even flow distribution.
The spray shape is related to the sprout shape and the structure of the nozzle. LORRIC made a brief and simple comparison of various kinds of nozzles to users for quickly understanding as below.
● spray nozzles
As in the image below, you can see the sprout of the fan spray nozzle is flat oval shape.
● Cone spray nozzle
The sprout is round shape and there are x shape and multi-slotted core inside the nozzle which are able to make flow distribution and spray particles more uniform.
● Hollow cone spray nozzles
The angle of spout and spray-out in the nozzle is 90°.
● Spiral nozzles
It is with spiral structure and its spray angle could be up to 170°.
