Pipe Fittings - Valve

Contents

Introduction

Flow meters are products applied to pipelines, and dealing with piping often involves various piping fittings. In this content, LORRIC has organized the more common pipeline valve fittings found on the market and listed the names and features of these fittings, allowing flow meter users to easily recognize common piping fittings.

Valve Fittings

Name Mechanical Drawing
Feature
Ball Valve Features a perforated ball set in the valve's center, which adjusts the flow by rotating the disc or handle on top. Easy to operate, maintain, and versatile, widely used in industry.
Gate Valve、Sluice Valve A gate in the middle of the valve, perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, used for full open or full close positions. When fully opened, fluid flow is unobstructed. Not suitable for flow regulation.
Globe Valve Named for its globe-like shape below. The valve's pathway is S-shaped, changing the fluid's direction and reducing pressure. Effective in regulating and stopping fluid flow.
Check Valve、Non-return Valve、Reflux Valve、Retention Valve、Foot Valve、One-way Valve Typically operates automatically without control. Fluid pressure opens the gate, which is one-directional, thus preventing fluid backflow.

Butterfly Valve Contains a rotating disc in the center of the valve, similar in operation to a ball valve, allowing for quick closure. Compared to other valves, it is lighter and less costly.
Blind Valve、Line Blind Valve、Line-blind Valve
Closes the connected pipeline by switching the blind plate. This valve design allows for a tidy slide switch, quickly shutting off the pipeline.
